Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is the story of Ellen, a mysterious female gunslinger (Sharon Stone) who arrives at the frontier town of Redemption to enter a fast-draw contest hosted by the town’s corrupt mayor (Gene Hackman). As the contest begins a variety of colorful gunslingers are pitted against each other, and the true reason for Ellen’s entry is revealed – she seeks revenge for a past injustice. The question then becomes, does she have what it takes to kill the man who ruined her life?
I especially liked... | ||
Sharon Stone's performance. Beneath the hard, cold exterior Stone reveals the kind, tender woman that Ellen keeps buried deep inside.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Watch it again. This movie quickly became one of my favorite westerns, spaghetti or otherwise.
I recommend this DVD because...
The movie presents a unique take on the old style gunslinger western. Seldom do we find a woman in the lead roll, and rarely do we see such depth given to the character.
