Summary of this Book...
The skills of editing your own work. It's a course in writing, with execises, in 182 pages
I especially liked... | ||
The Show and Tell chapter! It will teach you to RUE (Resist the Urge to Explain) your work, before you rue your work.
I didn't like... | ||
I thought more execises should have been added.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Immediately start editing every word I've ever written.
This Book made me feel...
This is a book that should become a writer's primary reference. After two months mine is already becoming dog-earred.
The author of this Book...
Are professional editors who, after careers at major publishing houses, have gone out on their own to teach authors the skills of editing their work.
I recommend this Book because...
New authors are forced to be their own editors. Until you are established the publishers and agents don't have time to do it for you...they have to work on their cash-cows. If you're all the editor you're going to get, it behooves you to know how.
Further Comments... | ||
A great read and invaluable reference book. I routinely buy it as a gift for my writer friends.
