Michael Brock is a high-powered, high-paid attorney. He is recently divorced and is married to his job. One day, Brock has a dangerous encounter with a homeless man. The encounter and the homeless man's words changed Brock's outlook on his career. Soon he goes from making a six-figure salary to virtually nothing, by becoming a street lawyer. He leaves his firm and takes an important file with him, that his former firm wants back.

They way Brock's former and present lifestyle were compared, not all lawyers are alike. Some work very hard for peanuts because they want to help people instead of make a lot of money.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a little different from the average Grisham novel.

mainly writes about lawyers fighting a case and/or corruption.

it's a good read, and I learned a lot fom reading it.
