Summary of this Book...
This book is about free thought and how buzz words created by agendized groups can cause society to "group think" instead of creating an atmosphere of individual free thought.
I especially liked... | ||
I like that the author presents her views on many issues such as socialism, capitalism, abortion, free speach, gay rights and a host of others and yet doesn't proclaim herself to be a self annointed profit or messenger of impending doom. She presents her ideas in a positive manner which I find encouraging.
I didn't like... | ||
I can't think of anything that I didn't like about this book.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
When I finished reading this book, I wanted to read another book of hers. I believe that book will be "The Death of Right and Wrong: Exposing the Left's Assault on Our Culture and Values" Also, I felt a strong urge to read 1984, which I've not read before.
This Book made me feel...
Empowered. I felt encouraged to think, speak and act on my own thoughts. I felt a little stronger in areas of my own thought processes that were weak in the past. I felt like continuing on in the direction that I had been going with my writing.
The author of this Book...
I recommend this Book because...
To me, the book is less about party lines and more about lifting up individuals whomever they are. The book is about encouraging dialogue between people, which would generate more thought and in turn more dialogue. I recommend this book because Tammy Bruce encourages values that will greatly benefit us as individuals and in turn, as a nation.
Further Comments... | ||
If you read the book, you'll understand why Tammy Bruce proclaims her sexual preference publicly, if you so wondered. You'll understand a little better about how non profit organizations work, as she was the president of the LA chapter of NOW. You'll get a glimpse of the impressions that writer's can and will make on the reading public through Ms. Bruce's quotations of the fiction used in the book.
