Summary of this Book...
It basically follows the protagonist throughout the stages of his life; from him living as a human in France and then him turning into a vampire and his exploits and so forth. Though it briefly touches upon the events in "The Interview with the Vampire", this book doesn't digress on it. Lestat is the main character of the book and as he is the narrator, he only speaks of things in which he has the spotlight, but arrogant as he may sound, he's a great character, this is honestly a must-read.
I especially liked...
I'm not a big fan of books, nor was I ever, but I somehow managed to read 'The Vampire Chronicles', and seeing how I already dislike books, it's a pretty great feat for this book to be actually 'loved-off' by me. I like the book because Lestat is a great character, he has all the elements of a normal personality and he had great depth. The book was hilarious because I loved the tone and his language and the plot was great. It wasn't one of "oh no, we're the only ones to save the world" or some boring this that drones on and on about emotional problems, rather it had both action and drama. I really loved this book, and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I didn't like...
The fact that it ended! I was completely and utterly crushed that it ended, granted that I did have "The Queen of the Damned" to run to, I still was like "NO! Why couldn't it go on?". It was a really good book; I honestly think that whole series was, well sort of. The first book didn't appeal to me too much (I have a short attention span) and the last one, I never read, because I wasn't interested in reading about religion and so forth, but in all honesty, Anne Rice is a great writer, phenomenal in fact.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read it again and yet read the next one (what else can I say?)
This Book made me feel...
Satisfied (I know that sounds odd), but I really liked this book, I wasn't left at a lame ending or anything, that whole book was a great read and I really enjoyed it throughout.
The author of this Book...
Is honestly talented. Exploring all the different facets of a character and giving them these great personalities and keeping a reader so devoted requires talent and great skill. She honestly is one of my most favourite authors.
I recommend this Book because...
This was one of the few books that I really did enjoy (by now I'm mainly repeating myself). Well Lestat is a great character and it gave a different view on Louis' story.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I can't really think of a reason why I wouldn't. Well maybe if you don't like the gothic, vampire stuff, then this book really wouldn't be for you right?
Further Comments...
What can I say that i already haven't? It's a great book! It has a great plotline, great characters, a great setting and the description is awesome. I love the relaxed and ______ (I can't think of the word) tone. It's a great book. I haven't read it for a while, so I can't really speak about anything in specific, oh wait! Another thing I really liked was how everything happens to Lestat, so he's a great main character, his life seems too fun, but read it if you like, I hope that you'd really enjoy it.
