Summary of this Book...
In a sleepy Irish town, the bodies of eleven women are found buried in the grounds of a remote farmhouse. The women died in pain and blood and fear, flesh stripped from their still-living bodies in a bizarre ritual to a little-known goddess. Attached to their bones...dolls. Strange little dolls formed of nails and fishooks, and bits of cloth. Determining that the murders took place eighty years before, the Garda decides to let the old mystery rest...until the murders start again. Within days of the grisly discovery, a young American tourist disappears. Her bones are found, stripped of all flesh; organs, skin, and mounds of bloody flesh piled nearby. Tied to her leg bones...two dolls. As more women disappear, Detective Superintendent Katie Maguire struggles to find the killer...only to find herself in danger of becoming the next victim.

The author of this Book...
Is a very well-regarded horror writer. In this book, he crosses horror with a good old-fashioned mystery. It should appeal to fans of both.
