Summary of this Book...
Holden Caulfield is having trouble getting through high school. He was just informed that he was being removed from Pency Prep. This is another school the junior has been removed from and his father would not be too happy. He leaves a couple of days early and spends them in New York where he meets up with old and new friends and goes through very dramatic mindsets. His younger sister, Pheobe, was Holden's favorite in the book. She kept Holden in line even though she was only 10.
I especially liked... | ||
Holden Caulfield. He thinks exactly like me. When he would try to explain things and got real frustrated at women because they couldn't understand him, mostly because he didn't know what he was trying to say, that's me in a nut shell.
I didn't like... | ||
How Holden was too afraid to say hello to Jane Gallager. You could tell that he had some feelings bottled up for her but didn't let them out.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Write, this book inspired me to start writing my own. And I did, its posted on here, "Forever Young"
This Book made me feel...
Good. Thats about all I can say.
The author of this Book...
Hates "phonyness". This isn't the only piece of his that he talks about it either. Salinger also loves children. A young child is always plays an important role in his pieces. Holden loves childrem and especially his younger sister.
I recommend this Book because...
It opened a new door for me. After reading it, it inspired me so much to write. I'm not saying I am going to be a big time author but it feels good to put your thoughts on paper.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Everybody should read this book.
Further Comments... | ||
J.D. Salinger loves his characters. You can tell by how passionate he is when he makes them. All the characters he likes he seems to make them all have sort of the same qualities. They all hate phonyness. Also he does love children, and you can tell by the way Holden is. He is so confused and has no idea what he wants to do but he knows he doesn't want to do the same thing as everyone else. The one thing he does know is he would love to be the guy in the field that "catches" all the children so they don't fall off the edge.
