Summary of this Book...
It's a collection of articles, poems, songs, ect. written by women about life, work, being a woman, and everything in between. The pieces are short for the most part, so there are a lot of women to hear from!
I especially liked... | ||
How most of the book could be related to by any woman. There is something in there for every woman from all walks of life. And it's not a man-bashing book, either, so it is very relaxed and doesn't preach.
I didn't like... | ||
Many of the pieces weren't really humor. It's not a bad thing, as the writing was wonderful. However, it is suppossed to be a humor book and some of the pieces don't fit in.
This Book made me feel...
As if I was part of something. A lot of things were joked about or just spoken of that I related to so well that I started to feel less alone in many, many aspects of life.
The author of this Book...
Not the author, she was the editor. There are a lot of authors in this book, including one of my favorites, Erma Bombeck.
I recommend this Book because...
It's a very mature laugh. It opens your eyes to the world, it helps you laugh at yourself and others, and it helps you to see that nothing is weird.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you don't enjoy poetry, you should be aware that, while it's not a poetry book, there is a lot of it in there.
Further Comments... | ||
Suppossedly, the royalties and a portion of the proceeds from this book are donated to charity. So you get a laugh while indirectly donating. This is definetly one of the best books I have read in a long time.
