Summary of this Book...
The Belasco house is the mountain of all haunted house, all else are just little hills. Four people are sent to investigate the house. One, a parapsychologist, named Lionel Barret, accompanied by his wife, is determined to prove there are no such things as ghosts. Another is a mental medium named Florence Tanner. She is very religious, and she is mae into a physical medium by the house. Another physical medium, Fischer, must battle the evil force by the end of the novel. As for the house itself, it was a former house of pain. People were locked away in it, by a man named Belasco, and basically allowed to kill each other.
I especially liked... | ||
Once again, Richard Matheson attempts to scientifically explain the monsters/creatures in his story. He explains the ghosts as being connected to Electromagnetic energy. It is always interesting to read his explanations. The book is quite scary also.
I didn't like... | ||
The book had some slow parts. I found it was not as entertaining as his other novel "I am Legend."
The author of this Book...
Richard Matheson. He writes a lot of well known novels that you have probably heard about. One of which is the "Shrinking Man" and "Stir of Echoes," and even "What Dreams May Come."
I recommend this Book because...
It's a good scare and a good read.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It may be a little too graphic at some parts for some people.
