This book is a very helpful how-to on writing poetry. The Author provides a definition of poetry, step-by-step how-to's, explanations and examples of different forms of poetry, writing exercises, and writing advice from his own personal experiences.

Mr. Kirby used words that were easily understood. His style was not hard-to-read text-book style like many other books on writing.

I liked everything about this book!

I wanted to write, write, write!

I felt excited and confident!

Mr. Kirby speaks from personal experiences, not strictly from library research.

This is the most helpful book on writing poetry that I have ever read! I think all poets, from beginners to veterans, will find this book helpful in many ways.

This book offers ways to get rid of writer's block (which also may be helpful to fiction writers and song writers), a glossary of terms in the back with thorough and understandable definitions, and information on getting published.



This book is so helpful that I have read it more than once. Each time I read it I glean more information.



I highly recommend this book to all poets, people who would like to write poetry, and people who like to read poetry.
