Summary of this Book...
Transformation. There said in one word, is what this novel is about.

The main character is a man named Will Barbee, who undergoes some major changes through the novel. At the beginning of the novel, he is a reporter working for a small town newspaper. He meets a beautiful woman who changes him. She awakens within him a power he never knew he had, and at night, during his dreams, he can turn into things - including wolves, and other beasts. While he is in this state, he does terrible things, such as killing his friends who brought back secrets from the Gobi desert that could reveal and destroy the hidden race of witch people.

By the end of the novel, Will Barbee has lost the whole of his humanity and is something else entirely.
I especially liked...
I liked how the book attempted to scientifically explain the way in which Barbee turns into other creatures. I also like how it goes into the history of the witch people.
I didn't like...
The book did not scare me much, which I guess is hard for a book to do unless it can actually make its story believable. Admittedly, the author tried to make its story believable, but its scientific explanations seem a little outdated (the book was completed in 1948). Also, its style just was not creepy enough for me.
The author of this Book...
Jack Williamson. This man has got to be one of the oldest writers. He has written a lot of sci-fi novels and won the Bram Stoker award (award given out by the Horror Writers Association) for his lifetime achievements.
I recommend this Book because...
If you like horror novels and werewolves, or people that can transform, you will like this novel.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you prefer to stay away from morphing people and hidden races of witch people.
