Summary of this Book...
How to write a screenplay. In the screenwriting business, Syd Field is known as the reigning authority on the subject.

No matter how many books you may read on the topic, most, if not all, will refer you to this screenplay Guru's book, now in it's third edition.

You'll learn everything you need to know about writing for the silverscreen. Field will teach you what you need to know from the first typed word, to how to market your finished product.

Whether you're new to the craft, or a seasoned professional, there's something here for everyone.
I especially liked...
The section on plot points. It's easy to get so overwhelmed and caught up in the scenes you're creating that you fail to see the direction you're going, or need to go in. Plot points are crucial to making your story work on the screen.
I didn't like...
How it takes a few paragraphs of set-up to get into the heart of what the chapter is all about; however, the conversational approach throughout the book is a positive counterbalance to this.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Write a book review to share this great source of information with everyone, and then get down to work on my script.
This Book made me feel...
Invigorated to finish what I've started.
The author of this Book...
Syd Field is a screenwriter, teacher, producer, international lecturer and a bestselling author on the subject of screenwriting. His books have been translated into nearly a dozen languages, and his books are required reading in over 150 colleges and universities in the US.

Although Beverly Hills, California, USA, is the place he calls home, one has to wonder how often he's actually there. No doubt he's kept very busy with all the hats he wears, not to mention his work as creative consultant to Mexico, Brazil, Austria and South Africa.

(information I used here was taken from the bio included in 'Screenplay.')
I recommend this Book because...
Every serious screenwriter has this one on his or her shelf for good reason!
