I especially liked... | ||
I love his feel for Xanth, and how it's exceptional fantasy, but not dull and boring like so many other, not mentioning any names of course...because of all the humor thats been thrown in.
I didn't like... | ||
Sometimes, not so much in this, but in some of the others, he can get a little repeative, and you can tell that he rather an old man from his writing style.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read the rest aof the series! all 25+ and everything else he's written. Though after about book 15, some arnt as good. It never gets as repetive or boring as GooseBumps though(what could?)
This Book made me feel...
Amused and happy and enthralled.
The author of this Book...
Has written A TON of other fantasy and sci-fi. the rest of Xanth rocks. I also love the Incantations of Imortality. Split Infinity series are good too,but ater about book 3they lost my intrest, they just start going downhill in quality. "If I pay Thee Not in Gold" a novel he coauthored w/ Mercedes Lackey is a good read as well...its differnt and unique.
I recommend this Book because...
It's very, very well written and entertaining. and theres 25+ more! Ever since 1977, he written a Xanth book a year...
I don't recommend this Book because...
Some people on the more conservative side may objects, there is some sex, but nothing really graphic. Mostly innuendo. Anyone who's againist magick probably be very offended! oh and if you dislike puns, NOT the series for you!!!
Further Comments... | ||
I love this book! I've been reading fantasy ever since i was about 5, and i've read many many fantasy books, and i can tell a good one from a trashy one miles away (figuritivly speaking...) This is definatly a good one, one of the best ive ever read, and that is saying something. It has the same extreme magical element as Lord of the Rings, but lacks the seriousness, this won't make you cry. Words cannot do this masterpiece true justice, all i can say is read it! you have to read about 100 pgs in before it starts getting really really good. Rock on Spell for Chameleon, and rock on Piers Anthony!
