Summary of this Book...
the inspirational journey of a young romantic hero blessed/cursed with unusual physical attributes. The novel follows his life's journey from his Irish childhood to a boxing match with the heavyweight champion of the world in Manhattan. He experiences all the highs and lows of the boxing world, including danger and involvement with organized crime before finding himself, through a series of cataclysmic events that lead him at last to where his gentle heart truly belongs.
I especially liked... | ||
the way the author portrayed all the characters - especially Sean. The novel was fast paced and I could not put it down. Indeed, I read all 244 pages in less than a day's time.
I didn't like... | ||
I loved this book. I don't have anything negative to say about it.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read another book by G.R. Dixon. Absolutely.
This Book made me feel...
optimistic about the good in mankind winning out over all the evil, and homesick for Ireland.
The author of this Book...
knows how to tell a story and get the reader hooked. I'm not a boxing fan and I hung on every word because I was so caught up with rooting for Sean.
I recommend this Book because...
I think it's one of the best books I've read anywhere. It's an inspirational tale and I could see it as a movie - picturing the characters in my mind.
Further Comments... | ||
I especially liked the way the author tied the advice of Sean's Grandma Mary into the ending of the book. Since I believe that all life is a circle, bringing us back to where we started, I especially enjoy works of literature that reinforce my thinking on that score. If I had to name my favorite books of all time, this would definitely be in the top five. If you would like to acquire a copy of this book, please visit: http://www.maxwellsociety.net/Fiddler
