Summary of this Book...
Told from the perspective of three very different characters about one summer that changed each of their lives forever.
I especially liked... | ||
The description and the characters. I got so into the characters it was hard to put the book down. And the description was beautiful, it was almost like being in this place, seeing the animals and vegetation, or even becomming the characters.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Write, read it again, hug Barbara Kingsolver... I also wanted there to be more, but I got over that.
This Book made me feel...
Good! The last chapter is really powerful. I think I learned something new about myself from reading it, and that, by far, is the best thing a book can give you.
The author of this Book...
Is my hero! This is the third book of hers I have read and I am continually in awe. She has a style that is unique, and beautiful. Her description and power over characterization is continually a learning experience for me as a writer. She is just plain amazing.
I recommend this Book because...
It is so... real. You get a feeling for these characters, share their joys and hardships, I always love when a book brings you in like that. It also has a great message about nature and conservation.
Further Comments... | ||
If you have never read anything by Barbara Kingsolver, GO DO IT! She has an amazing command of language and people. It's always a great experience to read one of her novels.
