Summary of this Book...
a little girl, named Avocet Abigail Jackson, known as Bird. She tells us a story about her unfunctional "white trash" family. After her dad's death, Bird and her older sister, Pheobe, are raised by their alcoholic mother. Even though Bird's days are full of brutal beatings, pain and verbal abuse, she is a big hearted girl with only one wish, to have a normal family. Bird meets Miss Zora, a black neighbour. Miss Zora became not just a friend of a little girl but a guardian angel as well. It was her who changed the lives of little Bird and her sister, once and forever.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I tried to understand Bird's Mama. Even though I felt a bit sorry for her, I don't have a single nice word for her and I really hope she got what she deserves.
This Book made me feel...
This book made me cry! | ||
I don't recommend this Book because...
I don't recommend this book to people who cannot bear child abuse. The book may be too disturbing.
