Summary of this Book...
This book is a necessity for any writer. It consists of multiple essays and articles composed by some of the top literary experts in the field today. This includes not only advice from editors and agents, but chapters and interviews with such renowned authors as Stephen King, John Updike, John Dufresne and Anne Rice.

I was particularly appreciative of the wealth of information found in the second half of the book. This includes various magazines with submission information, publishing houses, editors and literary agents, including with each the genre's they specialize in, and their requirements.

Upon finishing this book, I found myslf overcome with an overwhelming desire to plant myself in front of the computer, and WRITE, WRITE, WRITE!

Due to the chapters that focused on marketing one's work, I now feel confident that, when the time comes for me to begin submitting my work, I will be completely prepared to do so.

While the authors of this book are many, from a preface by the 1997 Pulitzer Prize Winner Frank McCourt, (Angela's Ashes's) to a chapter written by Daphne du Maurier. (Rebecca) much credit must be given to the wonderful work Elfrieda Abbe did as editor.
I recommend this Book because...
I highly recommend this book to any aspiring author. It is informative and educational, often witty and entertaining, and contains the questions and answers to many questions on how to get published, how to market your work, and whom to market it to.
