Summary of this Book...
The Kiowa Indians go to their winter camp, and all is well. Suddenly, word travels quick that a hoarse was slaughtered at the camp – slit at the throat. Then, some more humans are killed. The whole camp is convinced they’re dealing with a shape shifter. (One who kills in order to take the spirit, and be able to become that thing.) The main character, Tay-bodal, is a medicine man, and not very attractive, or trustworthy. Soon, the village will accept him, though, as a detective.
