This is for the audiobook version, which WdC seems to have a problem accessing. It’s also totally worth it to get the Kindle version if audiobooks aren’t your thing.

This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Not only can get you get these books in bulk, but the narration is spot-on (even if the voices of the annoying characters are, indeed, annoying.

I’m not going to lie; a lot of the humor (okay, pretty much all the humor) is juvenile, and some of it borders on gutter-guffaws. A good chunk is slapstick, and the rest is absurd situations that the MC manages to get himself into. But it is all ridiculous in the best way possible, and without understanding the full context, I know it sounds like I enjoy stupid books. But I assure you these are extremely well-thought-out books with real plots and are not some fly-by-night phenomenon. The characters are well-rounded, and although the MC takes multiple books to develop a proper character arc, it’s still worth it. Sure, yes, there’s some Deus Ex Machina stuff that manages to drop some awfully convenient ways for the gang to get out of sticky situations, but I don’t care.

The books made me laugh at loud at multiple points. I’m not being hyperbolic – I laughed a lot during this series. Everything from snort-laughs to full belly-laughs. If you in any way are interested in a slapstick version of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, give these a shot. I can’t explain it. You have to try it to believe it.
