Summary of this Book...
This is the story of a fox who steals a piglets carrots from the garden. The title bills it as a "story of friendship" which I assumed meant the piglet and the Fosse's would form an unlikely friendship. But it didn't. Instead, the piglet made a trap that looked like a mouse trap and filled it up with an apple and waited for the fox to strike. Which, I think, it did. But then it was banished to the forest. The friendship aspect, I guess, was the many woodland animals who helped the piglet to make trap for the fox. But there was nothing really made of friendship, except in the title.
This type of Book is good for...
I'm struggling with this. Its content is aimed at 1-6 year olds, but I wonder whether it might be a bit too frightening for that. At the same time, it would be too dull for children any older than this.
I especially liked...
The idea. It could have been a great lesson in friendship and honesty.
I didn't like...
The whole book felt a bit amateur. For example, all the words are written in capitals until about 2/3 of the way through when a page has normal upper and lower case letters. This irritated me, and I don't know why this happened. Maybe it was down to the translation to Kindle.
This Book made me feel...
Irritated. Bored. Confused.

I don't recommend this Book because...
There are better ones out there that teach the same values.
Further Comments...
I read this on Kindle Unlimited because it was free.

The illustrations in this book are quite basic, a little old-fashioned. Some of them, like on the page where the piglet and the fox face-off, would be quite frightening for a young child. I would worry it might give a small child nightmares.

I appreciate this is a book for young children (ages 1-6), but nothing really happens. Perhaps, this is because the author wants children to 'learn about honestly and friendship through illustrations." So it's more of a fable. But I can't see where this teaching actually is. And if the illustrations are the key to teaching, all they show is anger, fear and a little party when the piglet wins.
