This is the children's story of a super hero granny, and it's absolutely fabulous. I love the idea of this granny in a rocket suit who wants to save the world. The pictures are basic but entertaining. Children will love the bright colours. The rhymes work well, mostly. There are a couple of places I wasn't entirely convinced about. I love the repetition of the line, "My rocket suit is here to save your bacon." I found myself anticipating those words, just as is intended for the children who read/are read this book.

Children ages 3 - 7.

The granny hug the narrator gets at the end of the book. It's lovely, and it will (I think) calm children and soothe them. It's very loving.

I wasn't sure about the aliens at the end of the book. I was scratching my head as to why this was the right direction to take the story. However, it just occurred to me as I was writing this that the granny is in a rocket suit, so she could fly into space and hook up with aliens. Maybe.

Write a children's story.

Amuseed. I laughed a lot as I read this.

The rhymes and repetition will appeal to children who like to join in with the story. It will also make them laugh.

I read this because I'm looking for inspiration and ways to earn how to write children's books. I have a couple of stories I've half written, and I would love tho try to convert them to books. I guess, I'll need to figure out how to create pictures. But it sounds like something worth learning.

This book has shown me how enjoyable a story told in rhymes can be. I hadn't thought about using rhymes in children's books before, but now I'm pretty sure that's what I want to do. So this book was a good learning tool.
