Although it was written for educators, beginning and experienced poets may benefit from this book too. Basically, anyone looking to expand their knowledge of poetry will appreciate this book.

I find the illustrated poems that show the rhyme scheme and syllable count helpful when trying a form I have not previously encountered.

I would have liked a little more background information on some of the forms.

Like most poets, when I finished this book, I wanted to write as many poems as possible using new forms.

I struggle with meter often and some poetry books make me feel stupid. This one did not.

Viola Jacobsen Berg also wrote Poet's Treasury, which I wanted to buy after reading through this book. Unfortunately, the only copy I found was out of my price range at nearly $200.

Overall, this is a pretty handy reference book to keep around the house, office, or classroom.
