Summary of this Book...
This is a Christian romantic suspense book about a falsely accused SWAT police officer and how he tries to save his daughter, her foster mom and clear his name while falling in love along the way. Noelle, the foster mom, has strong faith and at first Caleb, the falsely accused officer, doesn't appreciate how she has pushed her beliefs on his daughter in the year he was unjustly locked up in prison. But as they move from danger to danger and Noelle's faith stays strong and God answers her prayers, he finds himself praying too and comes to faith along the way.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like romantic suspense with faith elements.
I especially liked...
Noelle's faith and the many short prayers included in the book. Caleb's character. The Christian elderly lady who convinced the bus drive to give them a lift. The answered prayers.
I didn't like...
I thought the author made Noelle too antagonistic against Caleb at the beginning. The love story might have been more believable if that had been toned down some. She went from stone cold against him and believing everything she'd heard against him to seeing a few kind gestures to his daughter and suddenly does a 180?...that was less believable to me than who the truly guilty turned out to be.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I am kind of interested in the rest of the series.
This Book made me feel...
Definitely suspenseful. The author did a good job of keeping the action moving.
The author of this Book...
From Amazon: "Laura Scott is honored to write for the Love Inspired Suspense line, where a reader can find a heartwarming journey of faith amid the thrilling danger. She lives with her husband of twenty-five years and has two children, a daughter and a son, who are both in college. She works as a critical-care nurse during the day at a large level-one trauma center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and spends her spare time writing romance. Visit Laura at www.laurascottbooks.com."
I recommend this Book because...
For the most part, it's a good story. It has strong faith elements. It reads well and is engaging. It inspired me to pray for others during the reading too.
Further Comments...
I own this book. I'm not sure if it was a gift or purchase. I will probably pass it on to a friend or donate it to charity, not because it wasn't a good book, but because I don't tend to keep fiction books once I've read them.
