Summary of this DVD...
This is the 7th Season of the hit show that we are watching on Amazon Prime. It is the only reason I keep getting Amazon Prime because this show is so good we are watching it many times over. When there is nothing on TV (most nights) we watch "Blue". It never gets old and it isn't dated like Hill Street Blues is. This show is as fresh today as it was 22 years ago when it debuted.

In this 7th season, Andy is reeling from the shooting death of his beloved wife, Sylvia. He has forgiven P.A. John for continuing to communicate with Delores' father regarding the trial of the rich guy accused in her death. The father spiraled out of control and ended up shooting John and shooting and killing Sylvia in the courthouse.

Andy is left to raise his young son, Theo, and Danny (his new young partner who replaced Bobby, played by Rick Schroder) surreptitiously follows and keeps and eye on Andy to make sure he isn't drinking.

Andy stays on the straight and narrow path and eventually he ends up returning to work and life, even venturing out into the dating world.

Rick Schroder is great in this season as he reminds Andy (and his ex-wife, Katie) of his late son, Andy Jr. Danny presents another chance at "fatherhood" for Andy, besides raising Theo. Andy gets a lot of help from Katie in raising their young son.

Detective Kirkendall pulls Diane into her deceitful world of dealings with her ex-husband as her career spirals down, out of control. This season has a lot less heartache than Season 6 did and it was a relief to watch it and to watch Andy's relationship with Danny grow as they slowly become partners who can mostly count on each other.
The cast of this DVD...
This is a fabulous show with wonderful casting. I didn't like Scott Cohen as Denby, but I'm not supposed to like him. He's a rat.
Further Comments...
I think this has become my favorite show of all time. It certainly is right up there with Seinfeld. Brilliant writing and situations presented in a believable and hard hitting fashion as the years go by leading up to 9/11. That picture (in every episode almost) of the Twin Towers is certainly haunting and ominous as the viewer knows what is to come very shortly to the city where this show is set and filmed (the outside scenes anyway)
