Summary of this Book...
Nicholas, Vicount Reston, is a big bear of a man with a soft heart. Leah Lindsey is a young woman in need of rescue. Nicholas offers Leah marriage to save her from her father's machinations, but expects the marriage on his own terms - while he finds Leah desirable, he insists on a white marriage. That proves heartbreaking for both of them.
I didn't like... | ||
The author spent a few hundred too many pages refusing to share precisely why Nick was insistent on a marriage without children. And then, in the end, the reasons were silly, and could have been avoided completely with a bit of communication. I was also irritated by the endearment he insisted on using for her throughout the book - lovey.
Further Comments... | ||
I usually love Grace Burrowes' stories. She has a wonderful style, and her character development is thorough. This one fell a bit short for me, but I do intend to continue reading her books.
