Summary of this DVD...
This is a movie among a bunch of Marilyn Monroe movies that I watched. This one was a dumb premise about a French Billionaire going secretly undercover (played by Yves Montand).

A theatre group (that includes Monroe as a singer/dancerr) is going to make an Off-Broadway play lampooning him so he goes to check it out under cover. Nobody realiizes who he is even though he is as well known as Donald Trump is today.

He falls for Marilyn and goes further undercover into the cast taking a small part as himself, which is so dumb, but whatever. He owns the theatre building so he can manipulate things to his liking, still no one notices that.

The main thing about this movie is that it was made in 1960, which is two years before Monroe died. Her deterioration from the other films I saw (Seven Year Itch and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, especially ) is remarkable. She is still lovely, but the real glow is gone from whatever and she was only in her early 30's when she made this dumb film.

Tony Randall is good as Montand's assistant - very funny in his pre- Odd Couple days. Also, Gene Kelly, Bing Crosby and Milton Berle have small parts.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who wants to see Marilyn Monroe's progression to death. It is sad.
I didn't like...
Yves Montand. I don't think he had any chemistry with Monroe. Everyone else in the movie does, but he doesn't. That makes it kind of dopey.
The cast of this DVD...
is a bunch of stars, but it is a sad portrayal of Monroe. She looks really bored with the whole thing and it is a dumb plot so I think she was right about it.
I don't recommend this DVD because...
it is not Monroe at her best. She looks like Hollywood used her up and spit her out in this one. It is sad because she was so beautiful at one time.
