Summary of this Book...
This is a thriller. A child in middle school is murdered while walking to school. The victim turns out to be a bully. The suspect turns out to be a classmate, the introverted son of the Assistant District Attorney in charge of the investigation. He has a past that he has not been honest about with regard to his own father who is in prison for murder. There are a lot of twists and turns in this intriguing tale. I will not give away the ending which is shocking, to say the least.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys a good mystery. It kept me wondering all the way through. The technique of using a grand jury transcript interspersed with the novel is a powerful one.
I especially liked... | ||
the character of Andy and how he sticks to his beliefs, no matter what his intellect is telling him.
I didn't like... | ||
the ending. I would have liked to hear more about what happened in Jamaica and why Jacob's mother did what she did.
The author of this Book...
knows how to tell a story that keeps the reader engaged.
I recommend this Book because...
it has a lot of surprises and twists and turns. The plot is not at all predictable. The ending felt a little abrupt to me, but it was mostly an entertaining reading adventure.
