Chris Baty, the young Canadian who started National Novel Writing Month was a procrastinator whose approach to novel writing was to 'stall as long as possible'. At one point, frustrated with his own inability to write, he took a month off work and rented a cottage in the country to produce a novel.
Instead, he went for walks, he chopped wood, he picked wild strawberries (and made strawberry jam), he visited neighbours, he took photos. In fact, he did everything but write.
