I started writing poems when I was around seven, for fun and I used to show them to my parents and teacher, Miss Newman, who was really supportive. I think that support has always inspired and stayed with me, and I know she’d be proud of me now if she knew I was still writing. So, I’d like to say thanks to her for believing in me, and setting up a creative writing group at my junior school all those years ago.
