Jem Farmer is a formal academic poet and literary researcher of Celtic form poetry. She is studying for an MA in classical literature specialising in the history of sonnets, Celtic form poetry and literature of the Romantic and Pre-Raphelite eras. Whilst not a published poet, she contributes to a formal poetry site called the Tir na nOg, where she is an administrator and moderator also. Recently she has been translating Welsh language poetry and contributing it to the Tir which will in turn be used as a reference in the Poets Garret, which is a widely referenced and respected site with the intention of bringing poetry to a wider audience.
