A short explanation of the relationship changes through the lives of a brother and sister.
Big Brother

He thinks she’s the cutest thing ever,
When she is first lying in the arms of their mother.
He’s so proud when she goes home,
Just because she’s his own
Favorite baby sister.
He’s so proud he misses her
When he goes to school the next day
He races home after school to play
With the little baby girl at home.

Years go by fast,
If only they could last
Just a little while longer,
To make the bond a little stronger.
But, teenage years arrive
He has a tendency his feelings to hide.
She wonders what is wrong,
When he tells her she looks like King Kong.

She runs to her mom
And asks what’s wrong.
Mom says, “It’s just a phase,
It shouldn’t last more than a few days.”
The days go by,
He tells her lies.
Nothing seems right anymore.

He reaches his senior year,
Something changes here.
He picks her up from school
And tells her that her outfit looks cool.
Something is different here
As he calls her “Sister Dear”.

Graduation day comes,
Mom and Dad are so proud of their son.
She realizes, looking at him,
That she is proud of what he had been.
It’s made the bond a little stronger on its own.

Later that night,
He announces that he might
Go to school in a different place.
Mom and Dad don’t answer, they stare into space.

As she starts to cry,
He hugs her and tells her something that can’t be a lie.
Something has changed here for the good.

He whispers something in her ear,
That he was sure that she did hear,

“I’ll love you forever, little sis.”
