When my oldest son lost his first tooth, I had the brilliant (?) idea that I would write cute, funny letters from "The Tooth Angel" to include with his quarter. Alas, creativity and energy waits for no man, and definitely for no mother of children, especially when their numbers grow to seven. I found myself hard-pressed to keep up with the volume of teeth lost. In fact, I actually only managed a hand-full of letters over the years, usually only one per kid.
This is all of them so far. Alas, I have permanently lost the original letter that started it all- I let a friend borrow my only copy (back in those typewritten pre-computer years!) to read to her kids. When I asked for it back, she said, "Oh, did you want it back? I threw it away!" The next letter (listed first here) does make reference to details in that lost story. I suppose I could try to reconstruct it, but it wouldn't be part of this family's tradition. I haven't had the heart...
