Shame

It won't be
Like the movies
And this isn't
Some sort of game

There is worry
There is struggle
And toward the end
There will be pain

Do not be fooled
By the glory of bliss
For bliss ends abruptly
And then you're never the same

Try being alone
Then try being broken
Which ever is worse
Was not worth the game

So those who love
Time after time
Are searching for something
Much greater than pain

Perhaps they are empty
Or fools who rush in
Or maybe what they want
Is to be rid of their shame
