Poems of Tahlequah, Teresita, Tulsa, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Boise City. All give points.
These are poems of the landscape and people I met in Oklahoma, July 2003 - June 2004. The folks of Cherokee County, of Cherokee Nation, Northeastern State University are among some of the kindest and most generous poeple I've ever met. Unless you step on their land unannounced, in which case they just shoot you, they are most welcoming.

I am glad that I returned to the land where my father grew up (Okmulgee, Mvskoke Nation). Tahlequah was a healing place, one I will always cherish.
