Wavy, blond hair flowing past strong shoulders to a tender waist.
Strong legs that stride gracefully and never really stop.
Hands that are just hands but give more than they know.
Eyes like the sea after a storm that crashed a boat into the shore.
Appearing in the door, conversations grow happy and smiles radiate.
With a wave we are all put at ease to be what we are meant to be.
Everyone ready to follow, where ever, whenever, always loyal.

I ignore my desires and clear a space, which I know will be filled.
A flash of skin and my senses go wild, creamy, screaming, ivory.
The seat is filled with smells of earth, heat, smiles, laughs, and joys.
A quick glance to let me know I’ll never be forgotten, we are one.

As long as they never know, they will assume her to be the angel,
The angel she always has been to me, that they will never see.
I will remain the chosen friend, the special confidant, the one they envy.

Someone snidely mentions lesbianism with a snicker.
Only I notice the flash of lightning on the deep, stormy seas.
Her smile never falters and I turn my loving eyes from her face.
If they knew, would we be the leaders we are so embarrassed to be?
Obsequiously listening, waiting for our difference to be accepted.
“Maybe someday” and a sad look of loud questions goes over and by.

They will not see her when she cries the liquid silver in hot streams.
I will help calm the storm that rages inside and threatens to overwhelm.
Again we will ask should we give it all up to be known, then unknown.
Would that really make us as happy as we think it possibly could?
I say that I finally don’t care anymore, she says she still doesn’t know.

She knows of the love that grows strong in the bottle of time we made.
She knows of the pain I have offered to bare for her alone.
She knows I will always be here to listen to the loud questions.
As she lights my last cigarette the flame ignites our constant passion.
