In loving memory of my Grandma
I kissed you my last kiss tonight
I wished it wasn't so
I prayed you wouldn't leave me
It wasn't time to let you go

But God sent His angels to your beside
To stay with you the night
They flew above and all around you
As I held your hand so very tight

I knew how scared you were today
Even before you fell asleep
Promising you'd be there in the morning
I nodded trying not to weep

I knew it was goodbye right then
In your eyes as well you knew
Silently you said, "I love you."
I kissed your hand and said, "I love you too."

When it finally came to leave
You knew I couldn't reply
Before you left, you blew a kiss
And whispered "Dear, please don't cry"

Then, a chill swept through the bedroom
Slowly your hand fell from mine
I bowed my head and said a prayer
Assuring myself I'll see you at my time

Now, with every gust of wind
That sends a chill through the air
I can feel your presence near
Telling me you shall always be there
