A poem based on friendship found in a shared interest in fantasy.
"The world is change; life is opinion." --Democritus

She built her life. Her mind was her home.
An observer, a watcher, a hermit, a loner.
She had no true friends, just people to smoke with.
Weird, a freak, a whore, butch, bitch, wrong.
Be wary, be careful They said. She's unpredictable.
Lost, loveless, fearless, accepting yet condemned.
She was alone but not lonely. That is what They saw.

He was a freak, weird, different, strange, unstable yet firm.
His few loved him, or so They thought.
He knew They were awestruck, curious, confused, and nosy.
Books, legends, stories, potions, spells, concoctions of love and fear.
Hypnotic music, loss of the self, gain of the oneness was his goal.
They judged him. He was not alone, just lonely.

They saw him as everything They missed when They looked at her.
The blind ones described her as what he really was.
They would never understand how He and She came to be...one
"Hello!" "Who are you?" "You will help me!"
"Life is pain, princess!" "The world is change, darling!"
He and She knew.

What They saw as irreconcilable differences, He and She saw
As "Unprecedented possibilities," "endless abilities."
He says She is too inexperienced, She says He is stuck in the ways of the old.
He wants to build her strength, She wants to examine his developments.
"I don't want the world...I just want your half."
Together He and She became the mystery of Them.
The alone, not lonely, the unspeakables, untouchables, embodiement of fear.

He's reliant on her tangents, She's reliant on his dreams.
He and She move silently through the crowds of Them.
Casting spells, controlling the toughts of Them.
He and She are now considered to be one, not by themselves
But by Them. One person, one act, one piece, one whole.
To Them, He and She were a flying union of extreme sexuality.
To He and She it was a perfect union of two thankful misgivings to make music.

The group "Them" has dispersed and now are a thousand, single "thems."
Delirium and Dream are now apart in the world,
But together by the union of the act, the white light.
The experienced ones feel the heat of the bond that stretches.
None shall separate He and She, who have become
What the other was, the other now is "separate but equally whole."
On "mountain and fairfax" they met to conquer, destroy and create.
