Written for 9th grade English. My crying leads to giving the World a second chance.
The tears are cascading down my already red and moistened cheeks. Salt mixing with the grief of another agonizing day. I have been brought to my knees once again, as the cruel day throws not only words at me, but the sticks and stones as well.
I wonder what time it is as I lie in my bed, wallowing in self-pity. As my heartwrenching sobs continue, I lazily glance towards the clock, opposite my bed. I can't decipher the neon green numbers through my still overflowing eyes anyway, so why bother?
There are definitely certain subjects I don't understand, from the pointless Biology to the very reason of my mourning. Why must they always laugh at me? Why do they send me the looks that they think I don't see? I'd rather have Hell swallow me up than stay here, at least then I would know I belong somewhere...
As my weeping turns to hiccups and my tears start to dry, I realize that maybe I should give the World (them) a second chance. I have finally figured out the truth behind the glances and the snickers. It isn't because I'm weird or because I'm strange, it's because they're different and bizarre. So instead of being a freak, I'm special, and instead of them being cool, they are all the same and it is MY turn to laugh!

(This is a true story!)
