~*~*~*~

Okay, home now. Homework’s done (well, not really, but I’m pretending it is), so I can write.

I’ve been thinking, and I have come to this decision: nothing I have written is worth publishing. It’s not even worth editing. It’s all a load of crap. So, I have come to another decision: I will just have to write something new to give to Almi’s dad. The question is, what?

And for that matter, what did Almi’s dad really mean when he said that he’d help me get my book published? That he’d recommend publishers? Have it published at his company? Be my editor/agent type thing and help me market my book? It just seems a bit unlikely that he really meant, “Yes, I’ll edit your story and put all my work into it and get it published if it’s the last thing I do.” I mean, he hasn’t even read much of my writing yet. This is highly suspicious. I’ll have to talk to Almi, and see if she can enlighten me. After all, he is her dad.

On a brighter note, Dad’s home, and his plane didn’t crash or anything, which is good. He’s a pilot, so he’s not here a lot. But he has this weekend off, so we actually get to spend some quality time together. I’m glad. I love my dad, but sometimes I feel like he gets too much into his work and just kind of forgets about us. Oh, well. I guess a lot of dads are like that.

I don’t know if Dad’s being away all the time is good for Mom. I’m always afraid that she’ll get into an affair or something. It’s not that she’s a bad person or anything, she’s just very attractive, and men find her hard to resist. Besides, she loves flattery, and someday she might get totally taken in by some guy and go off with him. I don’t think I could stand it if Mom and Dad got divorced.

Okay, away from depressing topic. You know, I think I’ll just stop writing for now because I can’t stay on happy thoughts. Besides, Mademoiselle Salen will kill me if I don’t finish my translation.

Best get cracking....
