What is a poet but a window with a view?

A torch in the night
When darkness invades the horizon

An activist on a volcanic mountain
In a distant valley of dreams
Where clouds lift from view
And lyrical lava of metaphoric fire
Spews from his eyes
Like a surge of inspired thunder
Revealing the sky’s vivacious color
Infused within a smoky muse
Of mystifying meaning

A poet is hunter of idea
Capturing mysterious moods of motion
Surrounding the panorama
Of experience and perception

Displaying his creative catch
For all the world to ponder
Yet written for only his heart
Flowing from the life source within his vision

A poet is an unusual being
Seeing himself in everything
Expressing nothing
He has not already become
