All the words I did not have the strength to say when my grandpa was still alive.
It’s just not your time
You’re the only one who ever understood me
The only one I ever really looked up to
I’m so proud to be your granddaughter.

I never thought I’d have to say good-bye
I can’t believe that time is approaching
You’ve always been the strongest person I know
Please don’t go without a fight.

You’re always the one who stood up for me
Always understanding where I was coming from
Even if you’re not here in person
You’ll forever be in my heart.

Please don’t leave me now.

My entire childhood is filled with memories of you
I feel so blessed to have you in my life
You’ve given me more than anyone could ask for
Now those memories are all I’ll have left.

If I would have known I’d lose you now
I would have told you I loved you
I would have spent more time with you
I wouldn’t have taken our time together for granted.

Life without you will never be the same.
I promise that I’ll still do my best to make you proud
I know you’ll always be watching out for me
Just like you always have.

Please don’t leave me now.

You never missed a piano recital,
Or a big softball game
You were always there to cheer me on
Now you’ll be there only in spirit.

I can’t take back the way I acted sometimes
The way I took you for granted
I realized too late how precious every moment was
There’s nothing I can do now but watch you die.

I wish I could have you for a few more years
And you could live to see your 70s.
I would find comfort in knowing you lived a long life
But I will never have that comfort.

Please don’t leave me now.
