An ode to my partner in crime

My constant companion,
My most beloved friend,
The wind beneath my wings,
A true Godsend.

Whenever we are parted,
I panic and despair!
I cannot live without you!
For to me you are most dear.

You bring color to my life
With great clarity.
Impressions of this world
Most beautiful to see.

You bring meaning to words.
You understand my need.
Without you
I would not be able to read!

When driving down the street,
If avoid hitting a tree,
It’s because of you
That I prevent this calamity.

I could not go to the movies
Or the theater,
And appreciate the arts,
If you were not here.

You complete my life
And my five senses.
I swear I’ll never trade you
For contact lenses.
