Grasshopper Hop Let’s all go to the Grasshopper Hop To bebop, pop, hop, bebop, dowop Where all the bugs must kick up their feet To dance in rhythm to the insect beat But no matter how good a bug can swing Not one can best the big Grasshopper King He’s the coolest one in the party crowd His swingin’ steps do the kingdom proud He’ll kick to the left and kick to the right Then jump the highest with all of his might Spinning and twisting he lands with ease His handsome wings slap the back of his knees The girl bugs twitter and buzz with delight To see his performance…oh, what a sight! The boy bugs try to copy his moves But not a one can keep up with his grooves So they’ll dance all night at the Grasshopper Hop To bebop, pop, hop, bebop, dowop Until the sun rises…well…they must swing To follow that rhythm and do their thing Now this rhyme is over and it’s time to go See you next time to watch him really show So come again to the Grasshopper Hop To bebop, pop, hop, bebop, dowop And dowop, bebop, hop, pop, bebop! (Mother-in-law actually created a little book for us from this) |
