A young girls imagination explores many realms
All alone in her bedroom she dreams
Of going off and exploring
Perhaps of venturing to the North Pole
Seeing the glistening white meet the sky blue
And listening to excited otter pups bark;
Of being where the only direction is down.

Laying her head on her pillow full of down
Her mind never stopping she dreams
Of being in a jungle, trees covered in bark
She wanders around an old village exploring
Motion catches her eye; she sees a bug with blue
Dots crawl on a blanket hanging from a pole.

In a bright meadow, in her hand a fishing pole
She finds a cool flat rock and sits down
At the shore of a stream, the wind blew
Some petals into the water, to where the mermaids dream
She jumps up, skipping through the flowers exploring
Running at her side, a group of puppies bark

Sitting up in a tree, holding on to the rough bark,
She watches other children slide down a pole
Her mind yet again wanders, exploring
She watches a squirrel run through the tree and hop down
She giggles at the thought of what squirrels would dream
As the teacher ends recess, ringing a bell that’s blue

At home, she reads a book about the ocean blue
Looking at pictures she wonders if dogfish bark
Glancing out the window she starts to day dream
Of diving into the ocean and using a pole
To hook treasure from sunken ships down
On the oceans floor that she’s exploring

Her mind switches gears to exploring
Space and seeing a planet hang like a blue
Ball and seeing nothing when she looks down
Then she realizes she hears her dogs barking
And in her mind flies back to earth passing the poles
On the way, her mind writing more dreams

In her dreams she is always exploring
She imagines maypoles and bonnets blue
And of aliens eating bark, while she rest on down
