Very brief scene with setting description for razi
Razi sat on the frayed brown rug, peeling flainicises to mix in the supper stew. Next to her, a small fire, with a pot hanging over it from strings attached to the ceiling, gave off the only warmth and illumination in the early nightfall. The brown clay walls of hut she and Obligi shared were blackened by the dimness. Through the flames she could see Obligi and Onisisok sitting against the far wall of the small hut. The elder was playing with the corner of a piece of paper that lay between the two men while Onisisok sat staring at the rippling cloth covering the door. Nothing was spoken. Sounds of the roaring wind prevented any conversation as the raging dust storms threw sand and pebbles against the small dwelling. The thick cloth coverings tied down over the door and windows blinded their view of the outside, separating them from the rest of the world. However, the material shifted enough in the pounding wind to allow some sand into the building. The fire flickered, casting monstrous shadows on the walls while Razi finished peeling the roots, removing the blood colored skin to reveal the crisp blue inside.
In between Obligi and Onisisok lay the plans of the masters’ spacecraft port, with all the security codes and specifications of the ships that were expected to dock there during the week. Next to it was a small data pad that allowed transmission of information and viewing of stores wares. It’s shiny silver reflected the firelight, making it glow. Razi had stolen them that day. As Obligi again picked up the sheet a string snapped, sounding like the crack of a whip, startling them all. Onisisok jumped up to retie the cloth on the door. Razi finished chopping up the roots and placed them in the stew. They made a splash unheard by the three. She covered the pot with an old rusted lid. Just as Onisisok finished tying the right corner of the door’s cloth down, the other side snapped free. He let it be, and they simply pulled their face clothes up to cover their mouths and noses. Obligi rolled up the plans and put them inside his cloak. Sand flew around the hut, the wind trying to push everything around as the group sat calmly staring at the sputtering fire, wondering about the coming week.
