I sat in the park today and found a little friend
I'd got home but not had my key
I sat on the steps by the pier
And a greenfly landed on me
I thought to myself, 'he could go anywhere'
'He's free'
But he chose to come and sit with me
He took a seat on my knee
Just then it started to rain
I usually like the rain but didn't today because
I suddenly realised how big rain drops are
Compared to how little this creature was.
I looked at him and he looked happy and busy
At the top of his denim hill
And as the rain got harder, he didn't leave
He stayed sat there still.
We stayed there a while longer
Eventually the rain did stop
And as I looked closer at my greenfly
He was drinking from a rain drop
With the river in front of us
And rain drops on leaves all around
He decided to sit with me all that time
The little friend I found.
