It's about how Corporate America is controlling the world's youth |
Untitled By: Kay Montoya Don’t show them who you are, Or what your emotions say. Hide away your fear, Bottle up your rage, And disguise your sadness as something positive. All you can be is Miss Perfect. “Yes, Ma’am. No, Ma’am.” “Yes, Sir. No, Sir.” They have brainwashed you and killed your soul. You steal opinions from a trendy girl named “La-La” You like Good Charlotte because Carson Daily Tells you to like Good Charlotte. We lie, We cheat, We steal, because that’s what is “popular.” We like MTV Because they tell us to like MTV. I like to watch MTV and be disgusted. Corporate America, why won’t you Just leave us alone? Trends, Fads, MTV, and Media. Media is our enemy. Media tells us we’re original By dressing exactly like each other. Well, Media, my hands are over my ears. I’m not listening, La-La! Keep your one-size-fits-all interpretation of “cool” Because I’m not buying. Sell, sell, sell. Buy, buy, buy. Keep your money, kids. They’re selling you poison. Hands over your ears, kids. They’re telling you lies. I’m full from eating the bullshit That Corporate America has been feeding me. It’s time to take back what is ours. It’s time to take back our souls. It’s time to stop being Miss Perfect. It’s time to show them who we are. It’s time to show what our emotions say. Stop hiding our fear, Stop bottling up our rage, Stop disguising our sadness as somthing positive. Hands in the air, kids! Mouths open wide, kids! Scream when you’re mad! Cry when you’re sad! Cower when you’re scared! Run away! Run as fast as your legs can carry you! Run to the highest cliff or the top of the tallest building! And then jump... Let your wings spread! You are an angel! And it’s time you knew... |
