A MEADOW WALK

The backroads beckoned me one day
As the air was fresh after a rain;
The winds had died down and I
Would capture the beauty once again.

I walked the road with leisure step
Untill a meadow came in view,
I left the road and found my way
Through fragile flowers edged in dew.

The ragged limbs of a little tree
Had fallen here and there;
The rain and sleet had taken its toll
On the meadow, though still fair.

Time-warped as I stood
Quite enraptured by the scene
A morning meadow walk remembered
As if in some night time dream.

I made my way back to the road
That would lead the way to home;
There is nothing like a meadow walk
When you are feeling all alone.
