Hunger
Everlasting Hunger!
Took me to the kitchen yesterday.
No rations except for these:
A bunch of berries
A bagful of shrimp
A nice little handkerchief
Filled with goo;
A spoonful of pickle
Made from leftover snails,
And a half-tomato gone squishy as pulp.
Now I took out a sauce pan
And threw in the shrimp,
Sauteed it while I diced the handkerchief;
and mixed it in the cooking shrimp
To provide the necessary "oil",
Then I added the pickle
To spice it.
Next I stirred in the tomato,
And let it cook a while,
And once ready,
I dressed it with the snail-pile;
Last, I added the piece de resistance:
a lump of fried rat-tail vermicelli on the top.
Perfect!
When I served it to my mother-in-law,
She sighed with pleasure, and said,
Son of mine, this is DELICIOUS!
