The Journey

The Journey

As I embark on my journey
I have a new path in life
I have now truly realized
I'm not just a mother, daughter, sister and wife
there is a plan made especially for me
I need to find it and discover
so I know how I'm supposed to be

I'm like a new baby
hungry all the time
taking my first steps
with your hand in mine
we all need to crawl
before we learn to walk
we all need to listen
before we learn to talk

I hunger for your words
they're what I crave to hear
I'll be down on my knees
praying you'll be there
they tell me that you listen
to everything I say
they tell me you'll be there for me
you will never go away
as I crawl along the floor
learning how to walk
I promise I will listen
to all the words we talk

Once I become mobile
and steady on my feet
I'll use them to spread the word
to everyone that I meet
I'll tell everybody it's you they need to know
without your word in their life
it'll be hard for them to grow

Now I've learned how to walk
and the paths ahead of me
I know your words will be my guide
and teach me who to be
I know the path will be long
with choices along the way
its your words that will keep me strong
As i get closer to you everyday
